We know what it takes to start a business. To grow a business. To succeed.

Whether you're looking for:

  • General Business Information
  • Start-Up or Growth Strategies
  • Business Planning
  • Business Management or leadership training
  • Small Business Financing
  • Small Business Grants, or, just some
  • Helpful advice

Talk to us. We can help.

Here are some of the Small Business Workshops we offer:

Introduction to Entrepreneurship The session is an open discussion to explore the benefits of entrepreneurship and what you need to do to start that journey.
Identifying the Opportunity Explore potential business opportunities based on four cornerstones - Hobbies, Interests, Skills and Abilities.
Identifying Your Target Market Knowing who your market is will be essential to business success. The more you know about your customer, the greater your potential to cost effectively reach them.
Developing a Marketing Strategy It is important to clearly identify how you intend to reach your customer. What forms of promotion will you use? What does your budget look like and is it reasonable? How will you measure your success and progress? These questions and many more form the foundation of a solid marketing strategy
Pricing Your Product Pricing your product is difficult, but it can be done effectively. Learn the formulas for developing a competitive price in your market. Understand fixed and variable costs and how they play a role in the price you set. Make sure you price to earn a profit/unit.
Developing Your Cashflow The cashflow statement is the single most important financial tool for a business owner. It provides you with a starting point when you launch your business and an effective way to track your business on a monthly basis. Remember the numbers never lie!
Developing your Projected Financial Statements When you start a new business you need to develop your projected financial statements. Understanding how to develop realistic projections helps to ensure your sustainability over the short and long term.
Understanding Your Financial Statements Since the numbers never lie, it is important to understand what they are telling you. Understanding your statements means understanding what business activities created those numbers. Are there adjustments that need to be made? What ratios should you use to determine the health of your business?

We also know that being in business requires connections - to financing; to mentors; to regulators; to like-minded souls. We can help you make those connections.

We’ll provide you with personalized one-on-one service. And we’ll help you make the connections in our network of programs for Indigenous Entrepreneurs that are right for you.

Check out our Training & Events page. You’ll see us throughout the province at Indigenous events focused on small business. We hope you’ll talk with us about your business ideas. We can’t wait to meet you.
